Faculty Profile: Xuemei May Cheng
Professor of Physics Xuemei May Cheng recently stepped into the role of dean of graduate studies.
An Integrated Approach
Effective integration of graduate programs with the College can support education for undergraduate students, provide learning and career opportunities for graduate students, and enhance ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥â€™s tradition of academic excellence.
Bryn Up
This educational outreach program brings science to young people through visits to local middle schools, as well as the BRYN UP YouTube channel. We plan to engage more ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ students and faculty, focusing on under-resourced youth.
Reciprocity
Janet Monroe ’17 and I met weekly through the Empowering Learners Partnerships program. She taught me piano, and I showed her how to use Photoshop and WordPress. We performed a piano duet—Rondo Scherzando by Mozart—at the end of the semester.
Nano Magnetism
My research focuses on magnetic nanomaterials that could be useful for magnetic data storage and biomedical engineering.
