Living a Good Life: Lessons from the Longest Study of Human Flourishing

Oct 26
2023
4:00pm - 5:00pm
On Campus Event - Carpenter Library, Room B21

President Kim Cassidy cordially invites you to an endowed lecture by Professor Marc Schulz that asks: what is a good life?  What does research teach us about the elements of a good life? What can each of us do individually and collectively to increase the likelihood that we and those around us might flourish?

This talk will try to provide some answers to these questions by building on research from the Harvard Study of Adult Development, which has been closely following two generations of individuals for over 85 years. Using stories and findings from the Harvard Study and others, Schulz will make a case that connections to others are the foundation of a healthy and happy life.

Reception to follow in the Old Library London Room at 5 p.m.
