Biography

Values/Strengths:

Helping Others: Something that drove me to enter the field of higher education, college counseling, and career services is that I get to help people in a direct way, both individually and in small groups.   I feel very lucky to help people uncover their passions and pursue their dreams.

Teamwork: I enjoy working collaboratively with a group of people to achieve a shared goal.

Individualization: I appreciate the unique qualities and features of people and observe each person’s perspectives and needs.

Harmony: Something I bring to the teams of which I am a part is finding the common ground across differing viewpoints and moving forward in a way that everyone’s input is represented.

Creativity: In the work I do at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥, I am able to create new ideas and programs that meet the changing needs of our students.

My first job after college was as a Residence Hall Director of a building of all First-Years at a nearby university.  I made a lot of mistakes and learned a lot about myself, both personally and professionally in this role.

My jobs during college were numerous: Dining hall employee, McDonald’s employee, Resident Assistant, Orientation Leader, Peer Advisor for my major, as well as my summer job at the aluminum factory in my home town.

Things I enjoy outside of work are cooking, gardening and arts & crafts.

A cause I am passionate about is: reproductive rights.
