Biography

Miriam Kamil studied classics at Oxford and the University of Michigan before earning her PhD from Harvard in 2022. Before coming to ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥, she spent a year as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. She is now elated to join ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥'s brilliant and close-knit academic community. Her research focuses on Roman poetry, especially epic and elegy, and on gender and sexuality in the ancient world. Her current book project examines receptions of classical literature by queer and deviant subcultures in the 20th century.
