After more than a decade of leading digital teams within New York City art museums, including the Guggenheim and the Jewish Museum, JiaJia Fei '08 has launched her own for art.
In a recent , Fei shared 10 of the images that have influenced her thinking and career in the art world (including the one below taken while she was a student at 魅影直播).
"It鈥檚 only fitting that I was asked to select photographs as visual markers of my career, because photography was my entry point into this profession," says Fei. "Before I became a digital strategist for museums, galleries, and artists, my first creative pursuit was in photography. At 魅影直播, I decided to build a website portfolio for my work, but didn鈥檛 want to ask someone else to do it for me, so I taught myself how to code. Nobody ever hired me for my photography work, but I soon realized that by learning how to code, I learned the most important language of the 21st century. As someone who now fluently speaks both art and technology, I see my role as a translator, using the tools of our time to make art more accessible to more people online."
