Recruiting Program

The Recruiting Program brings hiring organizations to campus to recruit ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ students. You can interview for entry-level jobs and summer internships and attend employer-hosted events. The Recruiting Program is managed through our online recruiting system called .

Some key benefits:

  • Find jobs and internships specifically for ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ students
  • Conveniently interview on campus (at BMC, HC, or Swat)
  • Meet ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ alumnae/i and hiring representatives
  1. Log in to to familiarize yourself with where to find postings and recruiting events.
  2. Update your Handshake profile with your preferred career interests to receive targeted emails.
  3. Prepare your resume and cover letter. Schedule a mock interview before your first interview.

Fall 2024 Career Fairs and Meet Ups

Tri-College Career Fair
Friday, September 20, 12pm-3pm
Haverford College 

Tri-College Career Fair brings employers to meet with students across all majors and class years from ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥, Haverford, and Swarthmore. This fair includes organizations from a variety of industries. Through this career fair, students can circulate the fair and meet organizations hiring for summer internships and full-time opportunities. Learn more on Handshake!

Writing, Publishing, and Journalism Meet Up
Thursday, September 26, 6:30pm-8pm
Swarthmore College

The Writing, Publishing, and Journalism Meet Up is an opportunity to connect with Tri-Co alumnae/i who are working across these fields. Learn from experts in the industry who were once in your shoes. Check out the list of alumnae/i attendees, the special Blue Bus schedule, and other information in Handshake!

Inclusive Hiring Meet Up
Thursday, October 24, 6:30pm-8pm
÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥

The Inclusive Hiring Meetup is an opportunity to connect with employers with diversity hiring initiatives. Tri-Co students are invited to meet employers from a variety of industries to learn about their diversity programs, recruiting initiatives, and potential open positions. Historically Women's College & Universities Career Fair
Friday, November 15, 1pm-4pm
Virtual 

Historically Women's College & Universities Career Fair allows students from all class years and majors to create meaningful connections with organizations from various industries. This virtual Career Fair will take place entirely virtually through Handshake. Students should sign up for group sessions (30 mins long) and/or 1:1 sessions (10 minutes long) with employers ahead of time. Check out the growing list of participating employers, and sign up for slots in Handshake!

Museums Meet Up
Friday, November 15, 1pm-3pm
÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ 

Join us for a networking event about careers in museums and discussion with partners working in Philadelphia-area museums. This event is designed to give students valuable insight into the diversity of careers one can undertake in museums. View the growing list of participating museums in Handshake!

Networking

Networking can be as simple as researchwhich builds a network or collection of relationships. It also builds from one contact to another (and another) and maintains relationships with them throughout your career.

  • Our comprehensive Networking and LinkedIn Guide offers tips and best practices for communication, preparation, interviewing, and more.
  • Our LinkedIn Profile Rubric enables beginning, intermediate, and advanced users to evaluate their performance in categories such as experience, recommendations, skills, and expertise.
  • Identify a field or type of work that has captured your interest.
  • Gather early-stage research on this field or type of work.
  • Identify and start a list of people working in your areas of interest.
  • Have a resume completed and reviewed before reaching out to contacts.
  • Reach out to ask if you can talk with the contact to learn more about his/her work.
  • When possible, meet in person at the contact's workplace.
  • Always thank your contact for his/her time and advice within 24 hours by email.
  • Nurture the relationship. Never burn bridges.
