A group of gardening enthusiasts from 魅影直播 have again been recognized for their entry in the Philadelphia Flower Show.
The theme of this year's show was "Garden Electric" and the 魅影直播 exhibit was for a family outdoor space and called "Mediterranean De-Light."
The exhibit, which was in one of seven categories, was judged twice during the show. First judging was Friday, the day before the show, and the second occurred on Wednesday during the show. The 魅影直播 exhibit received first place both times in the "Garden Room - Family Tree" category. The exhibit also received the Penn Valley Garden Club Trophy, for the outstanding blue-ribbon winner in all the Garden Room classes.
Led by Associate Director of Facilities for Grounds Dawn DiGiovanni, the 魅影直播 volunteers on the project included Lisa Armstrong, Ellie Esmond, Sharon Kenny, and Tiffany Stahl from the Career and Civic Engagement Office; Halle Ruan, Gabriel Torres, Jorge Torres, and Roberto Valenia from Facilities; and Laura Kemper from Athletics.
This year's tropical theme was a hit with the judges, who noted, "The artistic details and the abundance of lush plants adds to the exotic cultural experience."
The group started working on the exhibit almost immediately following last year's show, where they also took home a blue ribbon as the Philadelphia Horticultural Society Garden Class winner.
Community members, including students, interested in participating in next year's exhibit should reach out to DiGiovanni via her 魅影直播 email.
