Internship Organization: Transcendent Endeavors
Internship Title: Applied Linguist Intern
Location of Internship: New York, NY

What's happening at your internship? We would love to hear what kind of work you are doing!
I work with several different branches of Transcendent Endeavors, an organization dedicated to promoting equitable learning opportunities with a focus on language assistance. I review and edit databases used for medical language learning and provide product reviews.

Why did you apply for this internship?
As a linguistic major and a Spanish language learner, I have always aspired to apply my theoretical knowledge to an industry job. Additionally, I was hoping to learn details about the requirements for similar jobs to prepare myself for possible careers after graduation.

What is something you have learned from your internship that you didn't expect?
One thing that I have learned is how to add creative content to our webpage after receiving approval from my supervisor.

Can you talk about the skills you are learning and why they are important to you?
I have been developing my skills in teamwork and software usage. Collaboration is everywhere in our office, and having a good relationship with colleagues is important as it helps ensure the quality of our work and maintains our mental health. As for software usage, getting ourselves more familiar with software lessens the burden of data maintenance and saves a lot of time since it is the area where we depend more on data engineering.

What has been the biggest challenge you have faced at your internship?
Before this internship, I had no prior programming training. Because of this, I had to familiarize myself with detailed internet skills, which was very challenging for me.

What is most rewarding about your internship?
The most rewarding part of this internship was realizing that my contribution would help people all around the world improve their learning experiences, which makes me very proud.
